Preserving The

Heritage

Our Tour

You see the Walker House in the foreground, built in 1875.
In the background you see the newer Covington Building.

As you enter the museum you will be delighted with the exhibits that you will see.

We offer the one of the finest displays of fishing artifacts from the past, a past which once hailed Reedville as the fishing
capitol of the East Coast.

The evolution from wickerworks as a method of catching fish to pound netting is shown in this exhibit. Pound netting is still a way of fishing here in the Northern Neck, and produces millions of pounds of fish yearly for consumption all over the country.
Old tackle, netting and other antiques
are included in our exhibit.
